The 2014 edition of Le Tour de France will start in Yorkshire. The first two stages will be held in Yorkshire – first one in Leeds, while the third stage will feature a finish in London – already pencilled in by Mark Cavendish? Details hereand here.
This will be the fourth time that the Tour has visited the UK – 1974, 1994 and 2007. It is a mark of the growth of cycling in the UK, in particular Bradley Wiggins winning this year's race, and the success of the Tour's last visit in 2007 that Le Tour has made such a speedy return to these shores.
